A Life Altering Experience
Bhold Bags, launched in October 2009 by Sunny Lee-Fay, was conceived following a life changing experience that set its founder on a new path. On August 5, 2003, Sunny discovered her 33 year old, non-smoking brother Dan was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. Dan Lee was humble about his achievements, one of which included the character design of Nemo, the universally loved clownfish in Pixar Animation Studios, hit movie, “Finding Nemo”. Profoundly affected by Dan’s decision to work in the final 17 months of his life, Sunny reprioritized her own life goals, determined to live a life with more authenticity and passion. She immediately made plans to leave a lucrative career in investment management, embarking on her journey as an entrepreneur. Her passion for sustainability and environmental design resulted in the creation of Sew in Demand Designs, the parent company of Bhold Bags.
